How much does a move in Berlin cost? Prices and examples

The first question before any move is how much it will cost. In Berlin, the main factors are the volume of your belongings, the floor and the extra services you need. This guide explains the price ranges used by Danilovs TRANSPORT and provides four example estimates to help you compare options.

Hourly rate or fixed price: which is better?

For small and medium-sized apartments in Berlin, hourly billing can be cheaper because there is no fixed-price risk allowance. For apartments with three or more rooms, long-distance moves or a strict budget, a fixed quote can offer more certainty.

Pricing modelPriceBest suited to
Hourly rateFrom €70/hour (two movers + truck)One or two rooms, short journey within Berlin
Fixed quoteCalculated from photos or videoThree or more rooms, long-distance moves, fixed budgets

A reliable fixed quote requires the company to see what you are moving. Photos or a short phone video of each room are usually sufficient; an on-site survey is not always necessary.

Example estimates for a move within Berlin

These approximate ranges describe moves within Berlin, up to the third floor without a lift, including loading, unloading, furniture protection and a truck. They are planning examples, not binding quotations.

ApartmentApproximate volumeDurationApproximate price
One room / studio15–20 m³3–4 hours€250–380
Two rooms25–35 m³4–6 hours€380–600
Three rooms35–50 m³6–8 hours€600–900
Four rooms / house50–70 m³8–10 hours€900–1,400

Our minimum order value for a complete move is €250. Smaller jobs, such as transporting one piece of furniture or assembly work, are billed by the hour. German apartment listings count living rooms and bedrooms together: a two-room apartment does not necessarily mean two bedrooms.

What can increase the price?

Long-distance moves: Berlin to Hamburg, Munich or abroad

Long-distance quotes combine the route and the work at both addresses. Our online calculator includes routes of up to 30 km without a distance charge; above 30 km, it calculates the entire route at €1 per kilometre, plus the other applicable moving costs. Long-distance moves start from €650. Ask for the full route and charges to be itemised in your quote.

An efficient schedule can reduce avoidable expenses: load in the afternoon, travel overnight and unload the following morning where appropriate. Confirm the timetable, any overnight costs and waiting time before booking.
